Beginning teardown on front suspension. Brake lines, brake drum, wheel bearing and end links removed.
Don't loose the bolts! Even if replacing many, you never know what you might need. I use ziplock bags to mark and separate.
I'll save the original 11" front drum brakes incase the next owner wants them... For now I'm happy to upgrade to disc brakes.
Make sure to note the upper control arm cam positions, it will help if you are trying to eyeball the alignment enough to drive it to the alignment shop.
Ball joint removed... buy the right ball joint tool for this, don't try to use a wrench as you can damage the ball joint, threads or yourself.
This old steering knuckle had seen better days and needs to be replaced.
Old master cylinder removed awaiting replacement. Make sure to protect the paint from the brake fluid as it makes excellent paint remover.
New sway bar in but we have a fit issue with brace that connects the radiator support bracket to the K-member. It will need a few spacers to get it mounted correctly without hitting the sway bar.
New brake lines routed along the firewall.
